Rings Are In

We've received the rings, and will be cleaning them up, sizing them, and mailing them out this week. If you asked to pick up your ring, we will contact you to arrange a pick-up time.

The rings look great, and I'm super excited to get one myself – the Morse Code in silver.

SUNY Cube Ring

 The sample for the SUNY Cube is in and we've extended the deadline to order until March 30th. This sample ring is a size 6. 

 

Mirror Ring

The sample is in for the SUNY Mirror Ring. Here are a couple of snapshots that I took of it yesterday.

FAQ

First off, I'd like to say that yes, it is possible to get it in gold. Email us with your ring size, design preference, and what kind of gold you are interested in, and we will contact you with a quote. 

Below are answers to some frequently asked questions about the rings:

Rings are designed by us, 3D printed in wax, cast in silver, and finished by ourselves. 

The Morse Code Ring and SUNY Cube Ring have the year, the Mirror Ring does not.

We are guaranteeing that the ring you receive is the size that you indicated on your 

order form. 

Estimated delivery is 6-8 weeks. Rings will be received no later than graduation (May 

18th 2012).  

If you would like the ring re-sized after the fact, there will be an additional charge.

If you are interested in ordering a ring in gold, we will contact you with a quote. 

Order Your Ring

We will be taking orders on campus over the next couple of weeks. We will be in the Student Union Building on February 28th and March 1st from 12:00-4:00 p.m., then in the Lecture Center on March 5th and 9th from 12:00-4:00 p.m. So, come by to see us, check out samples of the rings, and get your finger sized.

Morse Code Ring

I now have my own Morse Code Memento Ring, and I'm super excited to wear it. Here are some photos of it:

This ring was designed by Sara Glaberson, modeled in Rhino by myself, then 3D printed in stainless steel using the sintering process. Here is a video of this process:

Now Taking Orders

We are now taking orders for the 2012 Memento Rings. We've extended the deadline, so all orders must now be received by March 30th, so get your order in today!

The Morse Code Ring is $20 for white plastic or $90 for sterling silver. The SUNY Cube and Mirror Rings are $110 and are sterling silver. They are available in whole or half sizes 5-14.

Print out the ORDER FORM and send it in with your payment to get your Memento Ring.

SUNY Cube Ring

This ring was designed by Lynn Batchelder and modeled by Cameron Andersen. It says SUNY on one side, NP with a mountain on the other, and 2012 on the top. It will be available in sterling silver and custom sized.

SUNY Mirror Ring

This ring is one of the metal options for the 2012 Memento Ring. The word SUNY wraps around the ring and inside is imprinted New Paltz NY. There is no year on this ring, so it's great for both people who are and aren't graduating this year. This ring was designed and modeled by Cameron Andersen. 

Morse Code Ring

 
The ring was designed by Sara Glaberson and modeled by Aran Galligan. It has the year 2012 in Morse code around the outside of the ring and is engraved "SUNY  New Paltz" on the inside of the ring. This ring will be 3D printed in white plastic for $20, and sterling silver for $90. Available in full and half sizes 5-14.

New Paltz Memento Rings

The graduate students in the Metal Program at New Paltz are designing and making Memento Rings for 2012. The ring sales are a fund raiser for the graduate students trip to Munich Germany in March for the Schmuck 2012 show.

There will be three designs. Two that will be made in sterling silver and custom sized, and one that will be made in plastic. Check the other posts to see images of the rings and to find out when and where we will be taking orders.
